Shell is reportedly considering moving out of the 50-story One Shell Plaza in downtown Houston. "Shell is clearly talking about downsizing its downtown offices,” says Sanford Criner, executive vice president of the CB Richard Ellis real estate firm. Shell, which employs thousands of people in Houston, has been laying off people globally. Reliant Energy Plaza, 1000 Main, has been mentioned as a possible new location for Shell, which has its North American headquarters in Houston. One Shell Plaza, developed by Hines, opened in 1971.
